Cade Foster – County Attorney

The office of County Attorney was first made a constitutional office under the Kentucky Constitution of 1850 in Article VI, Section 1, and the present constitution requires the election of a County Attorney in each county for a term of four years.  The duties of the County Attorney are prescribed in detail by Kentucky Statute, but they generally revolve around two main responsibilities:

• Prosecute all violations of criminal and penal law within the District Court’s jurisdiction, and
• Serve as legal counsel to the county government and institute or defend civil actions in which the county is a party.

Prior to being elected as County Attorney, Foster served as in-house legal counsel for a Western Kentucky corporation and as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the 2^nd Judicial Circuit.

Foster believes the rule of law is foundational to our society and the Office of McCracken County Attorney will do all it can to uphold it.
