The mission of the McCracken County Animal Control Department is public and property protection through the consistent and fair application of laws, regulation and ordinances relating to animal nuisances in McCracken County. As a part of this effort Animal Control Officers work to reunite lost animals with their owners as soon as possible.

Call McCracken County Animal Control at 444-8550 or the Humane Society at 443-5923.

McCracken County Animal Control does not take ownership of relinquished animals. They must be taken to the McCracken County Humane Society. Remember, by law you must not abandon an animal in McCracken County.

Contact the McCracken County Humane Society with as much information about the animal as possible, including a recent picture of the animal if you have one. The Humane Society will notify you if Animal Control brings in an animal that matches the information provided to them.

Unlike dogs, cats are by statute are considered free-roaming animals. McCracken County Animal Control will not retrieve cats on your property that are free-roaming and in good health.
